Vanilla Leaf (Achlys triphylla) has large vanilla-scented leaves, making its namesake appropriate. You can find this plant in woodland clearings and around your favorite campsites. The darling scallop-edged leaves make way for a spike of tiny, snow-white flowers, which eventually turn into small, leathery fruits. Vanilla Leaf prefers moist soil, so choose this plant in a wooded understory or along a shaded stream.
