Goldenrod (Solidago canadensis) has yellow flowers that attract pollinators and other beneficial insects. Goldenrod can be grazed by livestock and deer and is great at stabilizing soil. Goldenrod is naturally found in almost all U.S. states and is most successful in moderately moist environments rather than dry or wet ones. It is a great species to add for late-season blooms. It can be seen blooming through October.
This plant can spread easily with the rhizomatous growth; consider containing it if you are concerned about spreading.
