Thimbleberry (Rubus parviflorus) is often found in areas of frequent disturbance all over Washington. It can easily be identified by its large soft leaves that have 5 lobes. One of the tastiest wild berries, the fruit of this plant tends to ripen in June and has a soft seedy texture like a raspberry. Flowers are white with five petals. This thicket-forming plant spreads through rhizomes as well as seed, making it great for erosion control as well.
