Western Blue Violet, also known as Hooked-Spur Violet or Early Blue Violet, is a low-growing herbaceous plant with beautiful blue-purple flowers. This plant can be found over much of North America and grows well in open and recently disturbed areas. Like other violets, the leaves are heart-shaped and can be both hairy and hairless. This wildflower will help attract native pollinators and beneficial insects while also being resistant to deer browse. This plant can spread through rhizomes as well as seeds.
